As seen on Discovery+ and Travel Channel's GHOST HUNTERS!
George Taylor purchased this 331-acre plot of land in 1767 and built a Georgian-style mansion onto the existing structure. A testament to his hard-earned wealth, the completed home boasted 10 rooms, including a massive kitchen, an ornate parlor, 4 bedrooms, and a walk-in closet! Outbuildings included a summer kitchen, outhouse, and barn. Today, only the mansion and summer kitchen remain standing, and the total property is a mere 5 acres.
The George Taylor House Association works in conjunction with the Borough of Catasauqua to preserve this historic site. In order to maintain period integrity, our volunteers and contractors devote many hours to research before beginning any project - no matter how big or small!

Herb Garden
Weeding, planting, watering, weeding, pruning, raking, weeding, harvesting... Constant love and labor help this garden grow.
Landscaping
The plants and flowers beyond the garden need attention too. Volunteers keep busy with weeding, thinning, watering, pruning, planting, and mulching the flora around the estate.
Deep Cleaning
Sweeping, scrubbing, polishing, and washing. Our volunteers give the mansion a thorough cleaning several times a year.
Preservation is a never-ending quest. Regular home maintenance itself is an ongoing affair; restoring a 250-year-old home to its original glory, however, seems monumental. While there are countless projects on our wishlist for this property, these are the highest priority:
